The musical biography of Argentine First Lady-turned-politico Eva Peron is on its way to Broadway! Tickets are now available for the eagerly awaited revival of Evita, starring Elena Roger in the title role, pop star Ricky Martin as Che Guevara and Tony winner Michael Cerveris as Juan Peron. Previews begin on March 12 at the Marquis Theatre in advance of opening night on April 5, directed by Michael Grandage.
Evita features a score by Andrew Lloyd Webber and book and lyrics by Tim Rice. The show charts the rise and fall of the charismatic and glamorous young First Lady of Argentina and includes songs such as “Buenos Aires,” “Another Suitcase in Another Hall” and “Don’t Cry for Me Agentina.” The revival represents the show’s first Broadway production since its 1979 debut.
The combination of Roger (who won acclaim for the London production), Martin and Cerveris makes Evita a must-see for the spring season. Get tickets now!
